“There may be people that have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.” – Derek Jeter
You can be successful in the sport of lacrosse if you really put in the time and effort. You will hear every coach, pro player and teammate tell you to always hit the wall and become comfortable with your stick. But there’s a reason we call lacrosse the fastest sport on two legs.
Here are a few drills paired with Veloce equipment to help you improve your footwork, speed and agility to out run your competition.
A ladder helps players develop strong footwork, coordination and lightning fast feet. Four sections makes it easy to run different drills on the same ladder. Each section can be attached to go in a straight line or perpendicular.
A basic ladder drill is to have your players run the ladder as quickly as possible alternating between stepping in and out of the ladder. Have players begin by putting both feet within the first square, then outside the second square, then back in the third square and so on until they’ve moved down the length of the ladder. This simple drills helps improve fitness and agility, which translates into speed with the ball on the field.
The Thompson brothers are some of the most dynamic players in the game today. Not only are the incredibly skilled with their sticks, but they quite adept with their footwork which helps them evade their defenders.

Speed Chutes are a really handy piece of equipment. They improve speed, explosiveness, acceleration, endurance and lower body strength by providing resistance as your players run. Simply fasten it around your waist and take off. Bonus, the speed chutes are packable, portable and take up very little space.
