New York, NY (March 8,2001) - The Great Atlantic Neptune Crew traveled northward to New York City this past Thursday where Jake Steinfeld, Body By Jake Enterprises CEO, announced that his dream of starting an outdoor professional lacrosse league has become a reality with the successful launch of Major League Lacrosse (MLL).

Major League Lacrosse founder Jake Steinfield proudly introduced the league, its six teams, owners, logos, corporate partners and star players to the rest of the lacrosse world on Thursday in a crowded New York city hotel conference room. MLL, which will start play on June 7, 2001, will consist of 6 teams featuring the best lacrosse players in the world, including Casey Powell, Ryan Powell, Mark Millon and Jesse Hubbard. Based in Baltimore, Boston, Connecticut, Long Island, New Jersey and Rochester, the teams will play a 14 game season that culminates in a Championship event on Labor Day weekend.

"This league will give sports fans an opportunity to witness the very best lacrosse players in the game, at venues that keep fans close to the action and at a price that is affordable for the entire family," stated Steinfeld.
