In this edition of Hit the Field Friday, we are strapping into some of Nike’s new Lunarbeast Elite cleats and reviewing how this football cleat plays very well on the lacrosse field.
Originally designed for an offensive lineman, Nike saw a great demand for tough, stable cleats on the lacrosse field that are also lightweight. In comes the Nike Lunarbeast Elite, a tough skinned cleat that features a foam collar with Velcro strap that is built to withstand any damage you throw at it while keeping you locked in. The most important feature to these cleats are the popular flywire cables that wrap the midfoot and integrate with the laces to provide a true locked-down feel through all of the cuts and dodges during a game. NikeSkin wraps this entire cleat and provides tough protection against any close contact wear and tear.
Not only are these cleats supremely stable and tough, they are also designed for speed so you don’t have to worry about your footwear slowing you down. The full-length Lunarlon midsole provides an ultra-plush feel when wearing these cleats, and a springy response when changing directions. The Arch beam propulsion technology offers a touch more flexibility in the cleats which will help give you an added boost off the whistle. Finally, the TPU plate on the bottom surface displays an innovative cleat configuration, with nine supplemental cleats in the forefoot that provide unbelievable traction on any surface. The Raptor cleat in the heel was also added to help you dig into the turf on those quick stops and turns.
