History of Club:

CT Grizzlies was founded in September of 2013. With many years of club lacrosse programming experience, top college player placement at colleges and universities all over the country, we decided it was time to build something that was our own. CT Grizzlies players engage in several different programs throughout the year, providing them with key ingredients to be successful on and off the field. Additionally, our personal one-on-one approach with players and parents allow for opportunities for CT Grizzlies to attend and play at schools which best fit their personalities and academic needs. All CT Grizzlies coaches are fundamental lacrosse specialists who promote team chemistry, above all else, and we feel strongly we have the best coaching staff in Connecticut. We are passionate about teaching the game of lacrosse while at the same time providing potential life lessons for our players.

 

Team Make Up:

Our players come from all over Connecticut and lower Westchester County with a few out of towner’s (Michigan!). Primarily, we generate interest from the following towns; New Canaan, Greenwich, Wilton, Westport, Darien, Newtown, New Fairfield, Rye, Larchmont & Harrison.

Our CT Grizzlies philosophy is to teach players how to play lacrosse at their highest potential, as a team, and additionally to provide individual instruction allowing each to stand out while showcasing in lacrosse tournaments in the summer and fall seasons. You will not find a better, more dedicated staff than those affiliated with our program. We take, very seriously, helping our players become better lacrosse educated. Equally as important to us, our staff is dedicated to helping each player develop into mature, confident, strong minded young women entering the collegiate world of lacrosse and academics and providing them and their parents with support and guidance throughout the process.

2015 Top 2 Players:

Player – Angie Loynaz – Attack

Description – Angie is first and foremost, a finisher. She is very strong in tight and in the 8 meter. Angie is very strong one on one, with quick feet.   Her greatest strength is how she can score goals. Her job is to put the ball in the back of the net, which she does very well and frequently.

College – University of Virginia

Player – Charlotte Tucci – Midfield

Description – Charlotte a strong on both ends, defensively and offensively. Charlotte has good field vision and her defensive positioning is one of her biggest strengths. She is very athletic, tall and strong and will cause a lot of damage for other teams transition when she heads to college. She is strong taking the draw and comes up with big draw controls.

College – Duke University

2016 Top 2 Players:

Player – Micheline DiNardo – Goalie

Description – Micheline is an overall fantastic athlete; she has the quick feet and hands, great field vision and good under pressure. Micheline has great technique, her angles are spot on and clears the ball quickly with a lot of distance.

College – Georgetown University

Player – Katie DiMarino – Midfield

Description – Katie is very strong in transition and dangerous in between the 30’s. She has great endurance, high lax IQ, strong stick skills and provides much control on the draw. Katie shows great depth and with continued game experience, will be a huge midfield threat to many opponents.

College – Undecided

2017 Top 2 Players:

Player – Gabriella Noto – Attack

Description – Gaby is very strong, physically and mentally. She has great field vision, very difficult to mark inside the 15 yard line. Tremendous, powerful shot both close and far away. She can finish, sees 2 or 3 passes ahead and only has an amazing lacrosse future ahead of her.

College – Undecided

Player – Claire Marshall – Midfield

Description – Claire is the whole package. She is fast, great stick skills, very strong around the circle on the draw. She can take almost any defender one on one and has a very high lacrosse IQ. Claire is strong on both ends of the field. Where ever she ends up, she will be a force to be wrecked with.

College – Undecided

Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE), the leader in sports marketing and event management, handling events from conception to fruition. CSE has done it all from marathons, PGA golf, pro beach volleyball, to basketball and lacrosse.

 

In the lacrosse world, Corrigan Sports is known as the producer of the Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic which hosts the top seniors (boys and girls) from across the nation in a showcase all-star game of the very best as they complete their high school career. Along with the senior game, the Under Armour Underclass Tryouts and Tournament have become the marquee recruiting event each summer as hundreds of college coaches attend the regional tryouts and Underclass Tournament.

 

On the girls side, CSE has partnered with the IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association) to put on five recruiting tournaments throughout the year that draw an average of 350 college coaches and total more than 750 club teams, including the STX Capital Cup, Champions Cup, deBeer Western Cup, New England Cup, and the deBeer Presidents Cup.  A sixth IWLCA tournament, the Midwest Cup, will be added in summer 2015!

 

CSE prides itself in running first class events at the top facilities around the country. We work closely with sponsors, players, coaches, referees, and the facilities to provide the finest events possible. This is what we do!
