Everyone at LACROSSE.COM is super excited about week 2 of our Summer Tour as we will be at the 2015 Men’s NCAA Championships in Philadelphia, PA. There is nothing better than spending Memorial Day weekend watching the absolute best college lacrosse teams battle it out for the chance be crowned champion.
The road to Championship Weekend for the contending DI, DII & DIII programs has been filled with big upsets, unexpected results and highlight reel plays that will be remembered for years to come. In Division I, although the ACC dominated the top rankings throughout the season, only one school will represent the conference in the Final Four, with the other teams coming from the Big Ten and the Big East. Each DI match-up (Notre Dame vs Denver & Johns Hopkins vs Maryland) have both met earlier in the season with the Pioneers and Jays coming out victorious. The semi-final games are all about redemption for the Terps and Irish.
On the Division II side, the top seeds Le Moyne and Limestone have proven their seeding and will meet for the crown. This will be the second year in a row that Le Moyne has earned a spot in the Championship game and Limestone’s ninth appearance in the school’s history.
In Division III, Lynchburg put together a late nine-goal rally against Gettysburg to earn their spot in the final. Tufts, a familiar face on Championship Weekend, flexed their muscles throughout the tournament, topping their opponents by an average of eight goals.
All three divisions will collide in the span of three days and this is sure to result in some of the best lacrosse seen in 2015. If you will be attending the tournament finals, be sure to look out for representatives from LACROSSE.COM walking around the complex as they will be handing out exclusive invites for a Championship level 72-hour sale along with tons of freebies. Our crew will also be posting photos and videos from the Championships on our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts so be sure to follow us to see if you make a cameo appearance.
